Promotion of women in the Civil Service

The purpose of the project was to create an enabling environment for promotion of women to decision making positions at all levels through engendering the civil service, capacity building of political decision makers and awareness rising of media. The project proposal was developed through preparatory mission of two implementing consultants (Sida decision 2007-000793) who together prepared a joint project document enhancing gender equality in three components:

1. Gender training of civil servants
2. Continued support for women politicians at several levels, including young people and
3. Awareness raising and competence development in gender of media.

SIPU International was contracted by Sida to carry out component 1.
