Evaluation of long term cooperation between Honduras and Sweden
In 2007, the Swedish government decided to reduce the number of countries with which Sweden had international development cooperation. Among the phased-out countries was Honduras. This assignment included two evaluations of the Swedish cooperation with Honduras 2001-2010. The first "exit evaluation" aimed at analyzing the overall performance and implementation of strategies for Swedish cooperation with Honduras. The parallel, "thematic evaluation" emphasized Swedish cooperation in the field of democratic governance, human rights and gender equality.
The two evaluations aimed at providing Sida with knowledge on:
- How well Swedish cooperation has responded to Honduran needs;
- Ways in which achieved results can be sustained;
- Learning lessons that can be applied in other regions where Sida works, covering both long-term development cooperation and learning from the phasing out process.
